Work is underway on White Oak Bayou.
Crews kicked off a yearlong project to repair damaged concrete channel lining at 168 sites along nearly 11 miles of northwest Houston, from upstream of Yale Street to Cole Creek.

Why it matters: This federally constructed channel helps move stormwater away from neighborhoods. Strong, well-maintained lining helps it do that job for decades to come.
You may notice crews and equipment along the bayou. Estimated completion: Q3 2027.
This project is part of our increased investment in maintenance to preserve and strengthen our flood control infrastructure.
